License to play

To put on one of Astrid Lindgren’s plays in public you need to get permission. Applications may be made to Verlag für Kindertheater for German-language productions or to Nordiska ApS, International Performing Rights Agency for all other languages.

There are many complete scripts that have been approved and which are available to anyone who wishes to put on a production. It is important to understand that Astrid has already invented everything that is to be in her stories. Adding new characters or events is not permitted, nor is it permissible to change the personalities of the existing characters.

All of Astrid Lindgren’s works are protected by copyright – both drama scripts and other texts. Should you wish to write a new script for a public production, you must first seek permission from Saltkråkan AB.

The characters exist in the books, the films and in the theatre performances, but nowhere else. It is not permitted to use any of the figures for any other public event. If you are uncertain as to whether your event is considered public or not, you may call or email us at Saltkråkan AB to apply for permission: info@saltkrakan.se
